Acquiring the most fluent reading skills is the not the things everyone excels at. Even the most seamless of readers can be seen stuck, at times when reading highly technical text and jargons. Although there are a number of workarounds for improving the quality of your reading, but as for this discussion, I’m going to talk about the setting the reading mechanics, in other words, the positioning and the movement of the eyes right.
Broadly speaking, eyes need to be disciplined properly. What students need to realize is that skimming actually forces the eyes to move without discipline. When you need to essay help read and remember a large content of a chapter, the eyes must flow from one fixed point to the very next one in an evenly left to right sequence. When we talk about the fixation point, it doesn’t mean a single character or even a word, but rather summing a number of words in one fixation. Yes, there are a number of tools that can assist you in mastering the eyes to fixate appropriately, but unfortunately not every school intends to use it. I myself have experienced the drastic improvements in reading in students who have used such tools.
Poor readers also have a defined mechanism behind the reason of their improper reading skills. They tend to hinder at every word and register lower comprehension due to the fact that their mind struggles to acknowledge each letter in every word they go through. This is the major reason that makes it difficult for them to remember whatever they read.
It is quite common to see students complaining that read a chapter about three to four time, but still can’t answer the questions in verbal quizzes. The reason being is they were not able to understand the meaning of every word they read. Even direct and thought-provoking questions are not answered easily, just because the reader’s focus on each word constrained him/her from connecting what the eyes saw with the already existing knowledge of the content in your mind.
As stated above, try to see multiple words in each fixation, and practice as much as you can if you are to increase your reading speed and understandability of the topic.
